Practices for our spring sports are starting next week. In the Spring we offer soccer and track for the girls and track for the boys. Girls may participate in both sports during the season.
Soccer is coached by Cassidy Cheray with Cari Koster and Maciej Marciniak assisting. They will practice Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 3:45-5:30.
I serve as the head track coach and am assisted by Christine Tuck, Kris Osler and Adrian Peppers. We will practice Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 3:45-5:30
The first soccer game will by March 24, and the first track meet April 16. See the Events section on the side for a complete schedule for both teams.
The Holy Cross 7-8 Grade Girls finished the Topeka Lutheran Basketball tournament by winning the consolation championship with a victory or St. Matthews of Topeka. The girls to control of the game early and never looked back, winning with a final 8 point margin. Pictures from all of today's games will be posted later.
The boys defeated St. Matthew 32-28 and will advance to the championship game tonight at 7:05 against Calvary of Kansas City. The team started out slow and fell behind by 8 in the second quarter. but went on a run at the end of the quarter to cut it to one at half. They continued the start in the third quarter and got up by nine in the second half.
Holy Cross's first games of the Topeka Lutheran School basketball tournament are in the book. The boys had a hard fought battle against Hope of Kansas City and came away with a 45-40 win. They will next play St. Mathew Catholic of Topeka in the semi-final game. It will begin at 8:00 Saturday morning. The girls fell behind 10-0 but came back to 14-16 midway through 4th quarter before finally falling 21-16 in their first game. They will play Calvary tonight at 6:10 p.m.

We are nearing the end of the league post-season tournaments. Both girl's teams and the 8th grade boys are finished. The 6th grade boys will play again on Thursday night. Friday both the boys and girls will begin playing in the Topeka Lutheran School Tournament. The boys will play at 11:00 on Friday and the girls at noon. Both teams will play Hope out of Overland Park. It is always a fun weekend filled with basketball and good fellowship.
