The boys soccer team had their win streak stopped at three by a hard working and hustling Wichita Home School Warriors team 3-1. The Warriors first goal was a gift from the Eagles as the ball went off an Eagle shoulder and into the goal off a corner kick. Dylan tied it up before half with a long shot over the Warrior goalie. The Warriors scored quickly in the second half and put it away with another goal with about 3 minutes to go in the game. Up next for the boys will be the final home game for the boys when they take on the Classical School of Wichita Monday at 4:30.
We have received the locations for the league post-season volleyball tournaments. They are as follows:
8th Grade: St. Mary Derby
7th Grade: St. Peter Schulte
6th Grade: Magdalen
We will not get specific dates and times of our first matches in the tournaments until after the final matches on October 7. They will not begin until October 11.
All three volleyball teams were in action Saturday.The 8th grade defeated St. Mary Newton in 2 sets then fell to St.Mary Derby in an exciting hard fought match, The 7th grade team also went 1-1 beating St.Thomas 2-2 but the lost to a quality Magdelen team in 2-0. The 6th graders continue to improve but fell to St. Thomas and St. Anne

In a very exciting game the boys soccer team defeated CCA 3-2 this afternoon. Our boys opened up a 2-0 lead at halftime but the Lions would not go away coming back to tie the game at 2 late in the contest. Dylan then broke away from the defense and put the ball in goal near the end of regulation to win it for the Eagles.
The boys have two games next week both at Holy Cross. The B-Team will play C.C.A. next Tuesday and then the Wichita Warriors will come on Thursday for an A-Team game. Both begin at 4:30
All three volleyball teams were in action today. The 8th graders won both of their matches for the day.They defeated Collegiate to open the day in an exciting three set win and then downed All Saints in the second match. The 7th graders were at Holy Cross. They lost their first match in three sets to St. Catherine but then rebounded to down St. Mary Derby in straight sets. The 6th grade showed good improvement but lost both of their matches to All Saints and St. Francis.
The boys soccer team extended their winning streak to three games with a 8-3 victory over the Wichita Home-school Defenders. The boys scored early and often building a 7-2 lead by halftime. Many exciting goals and good assist passes on the goals. Up next for the team will be in action next Tuesday when they get a chance at revenge with a game against Central Christian who handed the team its only loss this season 3-2 in the opening game of the season.
The boys soccer team won its second straight game with a 2-0 victory over Elyria Christian School. It was another well played game and had at least three other shots on goal just miss by hitting to posts. The boys will have a game on Thursday here at Holy Cross against the Wichita Defenders. It will begin at 4:3
The Holy Cross volleyball teams got their season going today. The 6th grade team ran into a tough Resurrection team and lost in two sets. The 7th grade team went 1-1 losing to resurrection in 3 sets and defeating St. Anne 2-0. The 8th graders had an exciting match with Magdalen but fell 2-1. All three teams will play again next Saturday. We will be hosting the 7th grade games next week. For details on when and where games will be played see the calendar section below
The boys soccer team played a great game with the Wichita Warriors. Each half was just a little too long or they would have come away with a victory. The Eagles were up 1-0 when the Warriors scored a goal to tie with a minute to go in the first half. Then after taking a 2-1 lead in the second half the Warriors scored in the last few seconds of the game to tie it up at 2-2. Up next will be a game against Berean Academy on Thursday. It will start at 4:00.
